Steve Cheek graduated from Valdosta State College in 1976 with a BBA Degree in Business Administration majoring in accounting.  He has worked in the insurance business since 1982, specializing in individual and group life, health, disability, and long-term care insurance as well as work-place benefits.

Steve earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and has been active in a number of local and national professional organizations, having been honored with numerous awards, including New York Life’s Agent of the Year Award for 1989.  He is Past President of the Macon CLU and ChFC Chapter and a current member of the American Society of CLU’s, ChFC’s and the National Association of Health Underwriters.

Steve and his wife, Pat, were married in 1977 and are active members of Liberty United Methodist Church, Macon, Georgia.  Steve has served as chairman of the board, chairman of the building committee and a Sunday school teacher since 1989.  They are lifelong residents of Macon and have two grown children (Michael, a teacher, and Kelly, a paralegal and homemaker) and three grandchildren.
